Repair Work

Men work on restoring the bank of the railroad bed a few hundred yards north of bridge #30.  The track is on the upper right and they are working down in the creek bed.  This work took place becuase of major flooding that crippled the area and scoured this bank and many others.  You can see in this picture rock filled gabion baskets were installed to prevent the undermining of the railroad bed on this curved section.  Looking on the up grade.   Picture taken on May 23, 1938.
